A booklet is a book with smaller dimension and lesser pages as compared to an actual “book”. A booklet usually contains not less than 4 content pages and not more than 48 content pages. However, booklet has more variety in term of sizes and pages nowadays. The most common size of booklet is A4 booklet (closed size = A4, open size = A3) and A5 booklet (closed size = A5, open size = A4). The size of booklet always depends on personal preference; custom size booklet is very common as more and more people prefer to have special design.
An offset booklet is the booklet produced by offset printers. Offset printing is recommended when the booklet print number is more than 200 copies – anything below this amount should be done via digital printing for cheaper production. However, if the booklet consists only of black and white printing such as Annual General Meeting (AGM) reports, price-list booklet and etc., digital printing is still preferable as the cost for black and white laser print is comparable with, if not cheaper than, offset printing.
