Tape bind is the most economical way to bind document. It is simply achieved by applying black tape on the spine of the document. This method is suitable for documents of less than 100pcs of paper because the maximum thickness is restricted by the width of largest size tape available.
Comb bind is made of plastic. It is one of the commonest methods to bind document. It provides flexibility for the document because you can at any time slot in extra pages after the document is comb-bound. Besides that, the wide range of comb sizes allow thick document of up to 500pcs of paper to be bound together. A comb binder machine is needed to perform the binding process. It is a fast, convenient, and low-cost way to bind documents. However, some clients may find comb bind less presentable than spiral and wire-o binds.
Press bind, also known as lock binder is another option for the document binding. It is similar to comb bind; the material is made of plastic. However, some clients find that the press bind/ lock binder looks tidier than comb bind since it covers the spine entirely with a smooth surface.
Spiral bind, also known as coil bind, is made of plastic. Spiral binding is the process of binding all pages of document together with a spiral coil. Spiral bind is suitable for documents of less than 300pcs of papers. The spiral binding process take slightly longer than comb binding because the spiral coil has to be inserted into every hole along the edge of paper. The cost for spiral binding is slightly higher due to the material used and because the binding process is more complex. No changes (addition or shuffling) of pages can be made after the document is spiral/ coil bound. Once the spiral/ coil bind is removed, it cannot be reused anymore.
Wire-O binding also known as Double loop, Twin loop, Double-O or Wire binding. Wire-o binding is made of metal. Wire-o binding is normally used in formal presentation or professional settings. Wire-O binding is suitable to bind document of less than 200pcs of papers. The cost of Wire-O binding is the highest as the bind is made of steel. Any changes (addition or shuffling) of pages is not recommended as the Wire-O will be out of shape after it is removed.
